How do I get my grandpa to do physical therapy for his knees?

My grandfather has had his knees replaced and only did physical therapy for a little while, then abandoned it. He is 80 yrs old and shuffles around. I was wondering if it would be beneficial to get him back into physical therapy, and if there were any exercise that he could do on his own. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

What do you wear to physical therapy for your wrist?
